Accessing a loan to purchase a home or car is a very different experience for our clients. Often, they are not served by traditional lenders and face higher interest rates and costs and less favorable terms. Because of the lack of fair options available, they also become victims of unfair and predatory financial practices.
With the cost of legal assistance out of reach, neighbors and families turn to the Financial Protection Law Center for help.
We provide legal services and support to protect low-income clients from unfair and predatory financial practices, allowing them to stay in their own homes.
We provide legal assistance to low-income residents to protect their homes and improve their financial position
The low-income clients we serve are diverse individuals and families, are often aged 60+, living with disabilities and are on fixed Social Security or retirement benefits.
Legal assistance services are available to residents in southeastern North Carolina, including New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Columbus, Bladen, Sampson, Duplin, and Onslow Counties.
